Our Story

We established the Red Truck Café to serve great food at a reasonable price, and to provide our community with a place to gather and enjoy a great meal together. Our goal is to always be a “feather in our community’s hat” with the belief that restaurants are ambassadors for their city. We are the people who out-of-towners meet first and form their opinion of a community, and a place where residents can “show off” the good parts of their city.

The Red Truck Café originated from an idea that in earlier times farmers did not have direct contact with the markets where their goods were sold. This created a disadvantage for them. Bargaining for selling prices of their goods was conducted by brokers, often ending with the broker making most of the profits. The pickup truck, in our opinion, became the tool that gave the farmers control over their incomes. The creation of the Farmers’ Markets located within cities allowed the farmers to display and sell directly to the public and corporations. We pay tribute to the early farmers and to one of their major tools, The Pickup Truck. We just happened to like the color Red.
